R.N. Degree Completion Admission
The application for admission, accompanied by a photocopy of the applicant's current Illinois R.N. license and transcripts from all schools attended since high school, must be sent to the Office of Admissions. R.N. students will be considered for admission to the School of Nursing as soon as they are admitted to NIU.
School of Nursing Admission Requirements are:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Admission to NIU as a regular degree seeking student
- Licensure to practice in the state of Illinois
- Employment in nursing in the past five years or provide evidence of a refresher course
- GPA from a college or university consistent with the standards required by the School of Nursing
- Completion of a goal and expectancy statement
- Two letters of recommendation; one from a previous faculty member and one from a nursing supervisor
